It really disturbs me when I can’t talk of to the bride or groom, at least on the phone, about their wedding. And I understand that sometimes circumstances cannot be avoided. When I asked her what color the bridesmaids dresses were she said they were a pale coral short dress. I immediately insisted on talking to the bride as I knew the deep purple color would be incorrect. I was right. The bride wanted white wedding. Now imagine for yourselves the bride walking out to a deep purple wedding. That would be scary, she might faint. Luckily this tragedy was averted. Just because someone’s favorite color is purple doesn’t mean she wants to get married on the beach surrounded by purple.

Pensacola and Pensacola Beach are two separate areas. Pensacola is on the mainland and Pensacola Beach is located on Santa Rosa island. So you’ve decided to come down and have your beach wedding in Gulf Shores but there’s one problem, it’s not your wedding anymore. It’s become someone else’s wedding. And it could be anybody from your aunt to your best friend. I get a lot of elopements for this very reason. A few years back this bride was getting married in Gulf Shores and her mother planned the whole thing. And her reason was because she was paying for the wedding. The bride was wearing a deep ivory dress and she was about 21. The color of the wedding gown was not flattering to a young woman;s skin and made her look really washed out. So she called me four days before the wedding and told me she wanted to elope to Pensacola Beach. Fortunately I had an opening and I asked her what she is going to tell her mom and she told me she wasn’t. I saw her the very next day and got her married. We use the same wedding arch that she was going be using except we did it the way that she wanted it. I told her I was nervous that this was not going be what her mother wanted and there would be some dispute. She assured me there would not be any problem. The night after the ceremony she called her mother and told her what she did. And although her mother was angry she forgave her daughter and they learned to respect each other’s wishes. And she didn’t wear that dress either she wore a white sun dress. So the moral of this story is make sure you’re doing what you want to do for your wedding on the beach. It’s your wedding not somebody else.

When having a beach wedding in Gulf Shores I don’t usually promote websites for dresses and bouquets however I really must say that one of my brides found a site that’s perfect for her. I’ve seen other brides uses same web site before for dresses and they’ve always looked beautiful. I’m talking about JJ’s House. I married this bride and groom a couple of days ago and her dress came from there. Her dress was an A line/princess strapless asymmetrical organza wedding dress with ruffle, lace, beading and sequins. It was beautiful . She also ordered her bouquet from there and it’s called Spiritoso Round Satin Bridal Bouquet. The bouquet was stunning. I couldn’t believe it came from an online store. Our bride ordered her dress on line and never got to try it on and they got it right. She got married in gulf shores with a man of her dreams and looked incredible. I can say enough nice things about this place. If you get a chance go to a search engine and type in the name listed above and you’ll see what I’m talking about. I’m going to take the pictures of the dress and the bouquet and post them on the wedding resources page so everyone can get a good look at this. The prices are very good. Most rest is are under $200 and the bouquet was $30.

I vote for a Gulf Shores beach wedding for Mr. Burger and Ms. King. I know it sounds strange but these two kids are getting married and when you put their two last names together you get a popular hamburger joint. With last names like that they deserve to come down here too the Gulf Coast and have their wedding on the beach. We can outfit them with the paper crowns and other necessities to have the wedding they can enjoy and laugh about later with their children. I think it’s important to have a sense of humor when you’re planning any kind of wedding. Because it can make you crazy if you’re not careful. I’m sure that this bride and groom with their unusual last names put together have heard it all. Can you imagine telling your friends oh by the way there something you should know…. I’m sure the bachelor party and the bachelorette party were hilarious. Of course once their married and she decides to take his last name things will come down quite a bit. However there’s always the announcement in the newspaper that will make people go bonkers. In their own hometown I’m sure everyone got a big laugh out of it and ribbed the happy couple endlessly. If you’re planning on eloping for a Pensacola Beach wedding the weather could be prettier. Right now it is perfect weather to say I do on the sand. If we’ve got temperatures in the high seventies and low eighties and the water is crystal clear. Water temperature is about 75° right now so if you’re planning on going for quick dip in the Gulf before your ceremony now would be the best time to come. Easter is this Sunday and there will be a sunrise service on casino beach near the giant beach ball water tower on Pensacola Beach. Why not have a sunrise ceremony? If it’s very romantic to see the sun coming up and with the tender blush of sunrise painting the sky with pinks, orange and purple. It’s very quiet on the beach at sunrise which leads to a beautiful setting. According to the weatherman we’re going to have perfect weather all weekend long so grab your sweetheart, go get your marriage license and let’s get married on the beach. April is when are temperature start to warm up and the majority of the spring breakers are leaving so it’s gonna be very quiet out there on that sand. Nothing could be better for you in your sweetheart been having some private time together in a intimate setting. Walking hand in hand on the warm sand really leads to a unique bonding experience which I hope everyone will come to enjoy.

Recently I had a bride who wanted a Gulf Shores wedding. However another bride had booked her date. But she still wanted that date of May 10, 2015. When we started talking she told me that she was going leave immediately after her ceremony and drive all the way back to Tennessee that night to get up in the morning and go to work. I thought to myself where’s the joy? That’s no way to have a wedding in Gulf Shores. So I’d talked her out of doing that. I told her she would be a little tired after the ceremony because there is some tension on most brides. Her and her new husband would be driving the 10 to 12 hours all night and go to work with no sleep the next day. It just seemed so wrong. A few days ago I got a call from a bride and she told me she’s getting married in Gatlinburg by Serenity Falls. I asked her to please send me a picture because I would love to see her in her wedding gown. Sometimes it’s not about money it’s about doing the right thing. It’s about being responsible. I could not let her go through with that knowing that something might have happened on the way home from them both being so tired. I’m glad she found a suitable place only an hour from her home. And I feel good about my decision. Oh and the bride that is get married on May 10 is a math teacher and she like the idea of the 5-10-15. Pretty cool huh?

Okay you ladies I know you were looking for that perfect dress for your Pensacola Beach wedding. Well one of my brides, Jasmine, told me about some really beautiful dresses that have been designed primarily for destination weddings at David’s Bridal. The dresses are called DB Studio.   Jasmine had originally one of the halter style dress but was talked into style number SDWG0153. This dress is stunning and what is really fun is that you can go to David’s bridal, type in the DB studio in the search bar and it will take you to all the dresses. What I really loved about this dress is you could see a video of the dress and how well in it moved. Truly a wonder to behold. I also saw the halter style dress she had originally thought about but I do believe the that this other dress really shines through. For a beach wedding I think this dress will be outstanding. It’s a flowing which is really good for the wedding dress on the beach. You really don’t want to structured gowns because they can be very restrictive in your movements. This dress looks like you could breeze through anything and still look fabulous. By all means ladies please look into this DB studio style of dresses for brides. Also don’t be afraid to look in bridesmaids dresses, you can find some really beautiful gowns that will look great on the beach.

If you’re thinking about getting married on the beach in Florida there are a few things that you will need to know. There are some dates on the calendar that will be better than other dates. Having a beach wedding is a great idea that’s the best way to do it. But that’s just my opinion. Some dates you may want to think about avoiding all are July 4 and Memorial Day. And while these may sound like great times to get married on the beach you need to remember that you’re going to have all the locals and all the vacationers on that beach during your ceremony. Memorial day is the unofficial first day of summer vacation for a lot of people. And their gonna be running as fast as they can to get here. So if you’re planning your wedding you might want to wait about a week after that. One thinks of time to calm down and everyone is settling in for their vacation. July 4 is crazy anywhere you go. The only place I will do weddings on July 4 is Perdido Key in Florida. It’s not real crowded but there are people out there. Compared to Pensacola Beach or Gulf Shores it’s a walk in the park. May is a great time to get married because it’s between spring break and summer. So not a lot of people out here which makes for more romance during your ceremony.
